Built For Broadcast Tape

Professional formats need professional equipment.

Betacam, DVCAM, HDCAM and the rest of the professional tape family were built for production and broadcast use — which means they demand playback equipment that a consumer converter simply can't provide. We keep working, regularly serviced decks for each professional format we accept, run through proper time-base correction and frame-accurate capture.

This matters whether you're a production company digitising an archive, a videographer moving old project tapes to a modern workflow, or an organisation preserving broadcast history before the tape or the decks that play it become unusable.

We're based in the South West and work with clients across Somerset and Wiltshire, as well as production companies and archives UK-wide by post.

Built for production workflows

  • Format-matched broadcast decksBetacam, Betacam SP, Digital Betacam, DVCAM, HDCAM and DVCPRO all played back on properly serviced, correct decks.
  • Time-base correctionEvery deck we use either has time-base correction (TBC) built in, or the signal is passed through a dedicated external TBC unit before capture, for stable, broadcast-consistent output.
  • Small & large cassette sizesBetacam, Betacam SP, Digital Betacam, DVCAM and DVCPRO are all supported in both cassette sizes.
  • Master file output on requestNeed an uncompressed or ProRes master rather than a compressed delivery file? Just let us know in your order notes.
  • Cleaning & repair when neededTapes that need cleaning or repair before transfer are attended to as part of the process. Charges for this work reflect the time involved and scale with the amount needed; we'll always send you the cost and get your go-ahead before that work begins.
